Many of the cheap scales on the market really will not work correctly for weighing your animals. This is because of poor design or loadcell quality. What occurs in the cheap scales is if you move an object in each of the four corners of the platform you get different readings. This is called corner weighing. Since you can't usually control your animal to stay still and perfectly in the center of the weighing platform you need a quality built scale that will offer you the correct reading anywhere on the weighing platform. Since we only sell quality brand name products you won't have this problem. |

Ostrich eggs demand 1500 - 2000 grams capacity x 0.1 gram readability. The most economical choices are the mechanical triple beam Ohaus 750-WO, 710-WO & digital A&D EK4000H. |

Emu and Rhea eggs need a capacity of 600-1200 grams x 0.1 readability. Economical choices are the following: mechanical triple beam Ohaus 750-WO or 710-WO. |

For the more advanced breeder there is the digital A&D EK1200G with optional RS232 interface for computer applications. |

Zoo and Veterinary - Use the Ohaus ES6R-Series, Siltec, bench scales or Tanita 1584 baby scale to weigh puppies, kittens and other small animals. |
